IRIS was established to assist organisations that create and maintain opportunities for people with a disability to participate in active recreation and sport programs that are appropriate and sustainable. This program will assist the South Australian Government to implement programs and initiatives that specifically target people with a disability while at the same time supporting the South Australian Strategic Plan by providing increased opportunities in active recreation and sport.
Funding will be offered under the following categories:
Project Funding
Organisations can apply for grants to conduct projects that will primarily focus on increasing opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport and active recreation. This can include equipment purchases, project and program service delivery support and minor works aimed at resolving access issues.
Minor Projects
Up to $5,000 per annum
Major Projects
Between $5,001 and $50,000 per annum
Top- Up Funding
State Sporting Organisations for People with Disabilities (SSODs) who receive Statewide Enhancement Program (StEP - Stream 1) funding can apply for additional financial assistance to conduct core business activities as identified in their strategic plans.
Top-Up funding has been allocated for 2007-2010 through the Statewide Enhancement Program Assessment Process. Applications for this funding will open again in 2010-2013.
