At the recent SASI Awards Dinner Chris Doyle won the program athlete of the year, his achievements throughout the year are as follows
Represented SA in the U18 2008 National Championships in Perth, finishing 4th

Australian AAA U19 Team – 2008 World Championships in Canada, finishing 4th

Baseball State Teams announced
Two athletes, Jackson Lodge and Jarryd Klemm, will represent SASI at the Under 16 National Championships to be held in Geelong January 2009.
The Under 18 National Championships will be held in Perth also in early January 2009 and all eligible SASI athletes were selected, thirteen in total. Chris Doyle, Patrick Burns, Jesse Duval, Daniel Lee, Wilson Lee, Ben Lodge, Jamie Nikoletos, Anthony Webster, Troy Weinert, Kyal Williams, Alistair Young, Dylan Child and Dayle Child.
SASI athletes Angus Roeger and the SASI Baseball Program’s Athlete of the Year Chris Doyle will be playing in the Senior Claxton Shield First Series this December 2008.

The philosophy of the SASI Baseball Program is to provide a comprehensive year round baseball experience of the top 20 - 25 Under 18 athletes in South Australia. Maintaining a competitive level performance that is recognised at the National level. The foundation of the SASI Baseball Program is based on work ethic and learning. It is the goal of the SASI Baseball staff to provide individual attention to each SASI athlete in order for them to develop to their fullest potential.
Principal Objective
"To provide comprehensive year round baseball experience in which athletes have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential."
Supplementary Objective
To provide the necessary program for SASI athletes to reach their maximum potential in the physical psychological, personal and technical.
To provide SASI athletes and coaches with the maximum possible support in terms of sport, medicine and research.
To provide the necessary support systems to maximise SASI athletes ability to perform at their highest level in competition and training
Selection from a statewide Talent Identification Program and local club competition which is conducted by the SASI Head Coach and State Coaching Panel.
Age between 14 and 18.
Approximately 15 - 20 athletes are to be selected from throughout the State.
The SASI Baseball Program is a partnership program funded and supported by the South Australian government through SASI in partnership with both National and State Sporting Organisation. A key partner in the program is Baseball Australia who contributes funding support to the program as part of its National High Performance Plan. The NTC endorsement of the program recognises the status of the program in the sports National High Performance Pathway and also the indirect funding contribution to the SASI program by the Australian Sports Commission through Baseball Australia.
SASI and Marden Senior College have established a partnership in developing programs that encourage and support athletes to undertake and complete recognised secondary SACE subjects that incorporate and educationally recognise their sporting commitments.
