PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Program
The SASI Sailing Program will provide world-class coaching, training, facilities, support services and access to domestic competition to improve athlete development with a view to:
- Preparing athletes for best performance at Olympic and Paralympic World Championships and Olympic and Paralympic Games
Key target Areas:
Athlete
Target Group:
- Identified senior athletes in Olympic and Paralympic classes who may be eligible for National Squad selection.
- Identified Elite Development athlete - including ISAF World Youth Championship athletes.
Key outcomes: Increase the level of participation and results of South Australian sailors in Olympic classes in Australia and overseas.
Strategy: At SASI we will provide high level of on water training and regatta support for SASI athletes. We will build and educate our developing sailors in areas of nutrition, strength and conditioning to a level that they have the ability to achieve their goals.
Coaching
Target group: Club and private coaches working with sailors in South Australia.
Key outcome: to increase knowledge and support within the South Australian coaching group.
Strategy: To provide regular coaching forums and mentoring of SA coaches.
