Presented by Pauline Brooks
The ‘be active’ Physical Activity Strategy for South Australia is committed to encouraging and facilitating lifelong involvement in physical activity for all South Australians.
While there is compelling evidence that physical activity is associated with a range of positive health outcomes by comparison physical inactivity is now the second most important risk factor, after tobacco use, which contributes to the burden of disease, morbidity and mortality in Australia.
In It’s never too late! Pauline will explore the benefits of encouraging people to renew their involvement in physical activity through sport and recreation opportunities. Through identifying and overcoming barriers, shaping messages, marketing concepts, diversifying products, and establishing collaborative partnerships and networks, Pauline will examine some of the pathways to successfully reaching out and involving more of the community in the ‘be active ‘ vision.
