Industry Development - Key industry groups

There are a number of key groups representing the industry:

• Sport Federation of SA
  Represents the sport sector in SA and are linked to the national body, Sport Industry Australia (SIA)
  
• Recreation SA
  Represents three sectors:
  Community Recreation, there is currently no national body for this sector, although the Community Recreation Council of Australia is made up of national recreation bodies directly. Very few SA organisations belong to this group.
  
• Outdoor Recreation - the national body was the Outdoor Recreation Council of Australia (ORCA), but they have recently amalgamated with the Australian Outdoor Educators Association to become the Outdoor Council of Australia.
  Fitness – is affiliated with Fitness Australia.

There are some sector specific groups as well, including:

• Horse SA
  Representing the interests of the horse industry, and affiliated with the Australian Horse Industry Association (AHIA)
  
• Boating Industry Association
  Represents this sector, their primary interests are generally recreational rather than sport related.
  
• Aquatic Recreation Institute of SA (ARISA)
  Represents the swimming pool operators and managers in SA. They are affiliated with their national body.
  
• Local Government Recreation Forum
  This forum represents Local Government interests in the area of recreation and sport.
